Samaritan's International Operation Christmas Child -
Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2008
(11th Nov- 5th Dec 2008)
Operation Christmas Child is the worlds largest, annual children's Christmas project, enabling individuals and groups to fill ordinary shoe-boxes with gifts for needy children. Since 1990 the project has sent out Christmas Shoe-boxes to over 60 million children throughout the world. Each shoe-box will be hand-delivered to a needy child, asking nothing from them in return- all boxes are given to children regardless of nationality, political background or religious beliefs.
Together with Birmingham Chinese Evangelical Church (BCEC), as well as friends and family- we'd completed 61 boxes for children in war and poverty for the 2008 Appeal.
Between 11th November - 5th December 08, we helped to check, seal and pack cartons for export at the Hartlebury processing warehouse. From this warehouse alone, 25,000 shoe-boxes were dispatched to impoverished children worldwide.
