Samaritan's International Operation Christmas Child -
Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2009
(11th Nov- 2nd Dec 2009)
Operation Christmas Child is the worlds largest, annual children's Christmas project, enabling individuals and groups to fill ordinary shoe-boxes with gifts for needy children. Since 1990 the project has sent out Christmas Shoe-boxes to over 60 million children throughout the world. Each shoe-box will be hand-delivered to a needy child, asking nothing from them in return- all boxes are given to children regardless of nationality, political background or religious beliefs.
Many thanks to:
• Birmingham Chinese Evangelical Church (BCEC) 82 boxes completed
• Birmingham Chinese Christian Church (BCCC) 23 boxes completed
• Project TOM team, Friends and family- 70 boxes completed
Between 11th November - 2nd December 09, we helped to check, seal and pack cartons for export at the Kidderminster processing warehouse. From this warehouse alone, 14,000 shoe-boxes were dispatched to impoverished children worldwide.
A total of 175 completed boxes was sent onto kids in poverty.
