Samaritan's Purse International Operation Christmas Child -
Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2010
(8th Nov- 3rd Dec 2010)
Operation Christmas Child is the worlds largest, annual children's Christmas project, enabling individuals and groups to fill ordinary shoe-boxes with gifts for needy children. Since 1990 the project has sent out Christmas Shoeboxes to over 80 million children throughout the world. Each shoe-box will be hand-delivered to a needy child, asking nothing from them in return- all boxes are given to children regardless of nationality, political background or religious beliefs.
Many thanks to:
• Birmingham Chinatown Lions Club International - £200 donation/gifts for shoeboxes
• Thorp Streets Chung Ying Garden Restaurant - £322 donation/gifts for shoeboxes
• Birmingham 99p Store - £50 discount voucher
• Friends & family collection - £78 donation/gifts for shoeboxes
• Birmingham Chinese Evangelical Church (BCEC) - completed 82 boxes completed
• Birmingham Chinese Christian Church (BCCC) - completed 10 shoeboxes
• Project TOM team- completed 184 shoeboxes
Between 8th November - 3rd December 2010, we helped to raise money for shoebox presents as well as check, seal and pack cartons for export at the Kidderminster processing warehouse. From this warehouse alone, 12,000 shoeboxes were dispatched to impoverished children worldwide.
A grand total of 250 completed boxes was sent onto kids in poverty.
